Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a clinical nurse for the Enterprise Float Pool who collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care across Orange and Irvine locations. The role emphasizes planning, coordination, and advocacy for a defined patient group, including discharge planning and mentorship to students and new staff.

The nurse will float between Orange and Irvine campuses, maintain required certifications, and work variable shifts in a dynamic academic health system.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU experience
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement plans of care for assigned patients
• Coordinate care between disciplines and support staff
• Evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of plans, and readiness for discharge
• Mentor students and new nurses on the unit
