Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to join the acute care rehabilitation team at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL. The role is full-time with a 40-hour workweek, performing evaluations, developing treatment plans, and coordinating discharge planning for patients with diverse speech and swallow disorders.

The position requires a Master’s in Speech Pathology, an active SLP license, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited program.
• State license as Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Interprets referrals and conducts a speech-language evaluation of patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive and swallowing disorders.
• Implements written plan of care and provides treatment, monitors outcomes, and adjusts as needed.
• Plans discharge including home programs, family teaching, and referrals for community services.
• Completes documentation, billing, and scheduling per department policies and accreditation standards.
• Maintains safety, infection control, and collaborates with team to optimize patient care.
• Manages assigned caseload and may supervise non-licensed staff and students as requested.
