Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to support the Physical Therapist in delivering patient-centered care within our hospital setting. You will assist with prescribed therapies, document progress, and ensure safety and comfort for patients across age groups.

Responsibilities include adjusting procedures under supervision, guiding the PT aide, and coordinating department workload to maintain efficient therapy services. Must have an active PTA license and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required.
• Current license to perform as a Physical Therapist Assistant from the Board of Physical Therapy in the applicable State.
• Health Care Provider Basic Life Support Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in providing physical therapy as delegated.
• Document patient progress notes and report changes to the supervising PT.
• Modify treatments within the established plan as patient status changes.
• Provide guidance and direction to the Physical Therapy aide and coordinate department workload.
• Address age-specific needs and maintain patient safety and comfort.
