BayCare Health System is seeking an Acute Physical Therapist Assistant for Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, FL. This full-time role supports physical therapy services in an acute care setting and entails working with a multidisciplinary team to help patients recover.

The position requires an Associate's degree in Physical Therapy, PTA licensure with licensure within 6 months, and BLS. It offers benefits and a dynamic, patient-centered work environment at Morton Plant Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional ADL mobility interventions.
• Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes to the supervising therapist.
• Educate patients and families on exercises and techniques to support recovery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nurses, physicians, and occupational therapists.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during therapy sessions.
• Adhere to infection control and hospital policies.

Acute Physical Therapist Assistant Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.

Requirements:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant)

• Or PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant) Temporary and licensure within 6 months

• Required Associate's Physical Therapy

• Preferred 1-year Physical Therapy Assistant
