Job summary

BayCare's Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, FL is seeking skilled Acute Physical Therapists to join our inpatient rehabilitation team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality physical therapy services to patients recovering from surgery, injury, or illness.

You will perform evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes. Acute care experience is preferred, and we welcome new graduates with strong clinical rotations.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Florida Physical Therapist license.
• BLS certification required.
• Acute care experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations in acute settings are welcome.
• Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for patients with acute medical conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, and functional independence (ADL’s).
• Deliver therapeutic interventions including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, gait training, and patient education.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to coordinate care and optimize outcomes.
• Document patient progress and treatment in the electronic medical record system in accordance with BayCare standards.
• Participate in discharge planning and provide education to patients and families.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and state regulations.
