Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a Graduate Nurse / Registered Nurse (RN) for the Acute IMC Unit on a full-time 36-hour weekly schedule.

You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide bedside care for acutely ill patients, administer medications, educate families, and monitor patient progress. A BSN is preferred; current Maryland RN licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree required.
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.
• Communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of patient.
• Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
• Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
• Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes.
• Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with healthcare team.
• Educates patients and family throughout stay and in preparation for discharge.
