Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD, is seeking a Graduate Nurse / Registered Nurse (RN) for an Acute IMC unit on a full-time, rotating shift schedule. The role includes bedside care, medication administration, education, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure patient-centered care.

The unit features high-acuity patients with telemetry, advanced equipment, and on-site nurse educator. BSN preferred; MD RN licensure and BLS required; 1+ year acute care experience recommended.

Qualifications

• Graduate from accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure in Maryland or Compact State.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.
• Communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of patient.
• Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
• Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
• Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes.
• Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with healthcare team.
• Educates patients and family throughout stay and in preparation for discharge.
