Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Graduate Nurse to deliver bedside care on the General/Surgical Unit. The role requires compassion, clinical competence and adherence to nursing standards while coordinating with the care team.

The RN will administer medications, assess patient needs, educate patients and families, and support discharge planning within a 12-hour day shift, full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure in Maryland or Compact State.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.
• Communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of patient.
• Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
• Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
• Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes.
• Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with healthcare team.
• Educates patients and family throughout stay and in preparation for discharge.
