Job summary

Mercy Health in Springfield Regional Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacist to manage medication therapy, review orders for safety, and ensure compliant, cost-effective care for patients in a busy acute care setting.

The ideal candidate will hold an ACPE-accredited degree (BS or PharmD) with an Ohio license, at least 2 years in acute care, and leadership experience (preferred). Immunization certification is a plus. Mercy Health offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS or PharmD (required)
• Current pharmacist license in the state(s) where practicing (required)
• 2 years of recent experience in an acute care setting (required)
• 1 year of leadership experience (preferred)
• Immunization Certification (preferred)
• Experience in field of pharmacy practice (required)

Responsibilities

• Process orders and provide medication review for appropriateness, safety and efficacy during order processing
• Ensure accurate preparation of compounded and non-compounded products
• Oversee distributive functions and ensure timely medication availability
• Oversee pharmacy technicians and support personnel activities
• Maintain security of pharmacy inventory
• Identify and resolve adverse medication events and document in event reporting system
• Provide medication education to improve patient understanding and adherence
• Communicate with pharmacy team, healthcare providers, patients and leaders
• Participate in medication safety, QA, drug utilization reviews and other activities
