Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to provide direct patient care and assist with non-direct patient care unit coordination.

Under RN supervision, you will support acutely ill patients, document care, and participate in admissions, discharges, and transfers. A nursing program or prior PCA/PCT experience is required with basic computer skills and phlebotomy proficiency.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• 1 year in an acute or long-term care facility OR currently in an Nursing program.
• Basic computer skills.
• Proficient in phlebotomy and straight catheterization.

Responsibilities

• Provide and document direct patient care including ADLs, vitals, and minor procedures.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers on the unit.
• Participate in unit coordination, supply stocking, and equipment cleanup.
• Support quality and patient satisfaction initiatives and report changes to nursing staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
