Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct patient care in a stable unit, assist with admissions, and coordinate non-direct patient care activities. The role requires basic nursing procedures, clinical asepsis, and accurate documentation in the EMR.

Under RN supervision, the PCT supports the care team in a fast-paced inpatient environment, participates in quality initiatives, and helps maintain a safe, clean unit with timely communication.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• Experience as a PCA/PCT/NA, EMT, or similar preferred.
• 1 year in an acute or long-term care facility or enrollment in an Nursing program.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy and straight catheterization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including activities of daily living and monitoring vitals.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers on the inpatient unit.
• Accurately document patient care in the EMR and report changes to nursing staff.
• Participate in unit activities and quality/patient satisfaction initiatives.
• Support supply stocking and equipment upkeep on the unit.
