Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care and assist with unit coordination. You will support RNs in caring for stable patients, perform basic nursing tasks, maintain asepsis, and document care in the electronic medical record.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, the ability to read, write, and follow instructions, basic math and computer skills. Training is provided; ASN/BSN enrollment is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• Two weeks of training for limited or no experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides and documents direct patient care and activities such as ADLs, vital signs, mobility, specimen collection, I&O, and documentation in EMR.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives and maintains a clean environment.
• Accurately documents vital signs, I&O, weights and treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Participates in unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
