Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a patient care assistant to provide direct patient care and assist with non-direct patient care unit coordination. You will support the RN in caring for stable and acutely ill patients, perform basic nursing procedures, document care in the EMR, and ensure a safe, respectful environment.

Responsibilities include vital signs, ADLs, mobility, and timely communication with nursing staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic.
• Ability to document accurately and follow instructions.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides and documents direct patient care and activities (ADLs, vital signs, mobility, measurements).
• Participates in safety initiatives and maintains a clean/ordered environment.
• Documents changes in patient conditions and communicates with nursing staff.
• Assists with admissions, discharges, and transfers on the unit.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
