Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant specializing in Acute Care to join our Rehab Therapy Services team. The role involves evaluating patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to restore function and improve care outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds an OTA associate degree, current state licensure, CPR certification, and has exposure to acute care settings; 1 year of related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Associate Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
• 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience preferred
• Knowledge of Acute Care required
• Current State licensure as an Occupational Therapist Assistant
• AHA Healthcare Provider CPR required

Responsibilities

• Works under the direct supervision of the Team Coordinator and/or Clinical Specialist, and leadership of the Rehab Therapy Services Inpatient Manager
• Uses objective evaluation techniques to assess the occupational limitations and medical condition of patients
• Prescribes and implements a treatment program to return patients to their maximum level of function
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary health care team to maximize patient and team outcomes
• Promotes improvement in service, department and hospital systems to benefit patient care
• Incorporates and operationalizes the goals and objectives of the organization
