Job summary

Valley Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to perform concurrent and retrospective reviews of inpatient medical records within an acute care setting, ensuring accurate documentation for severity of illness and risk of mortality.

The role supports external payer and regulatory requirements, aiding in quality of care reporting and compliant reimbursement. Strong communication and independent work are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or International Medical Graduate.
• Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in an acute care setting; critical care, medical/surgical or Emergency Department nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinically based concurrent and retrospective review of inpatient medical records to evaluate utilization and documentation of acute care services.
• Facilitates appropriate physician documentation of care delivered to reflect patient severity of illness and risk of mortality.
• Reviews are determined internally and by external payers or regulatory agencies and support reporting of quality of care outcomes and reimbursement.
