Milliman, Inc. is offering a Summer 2027 actuarial internship within the CMH Health Practice in Chicago, IL.

The role targets college students pursuing bachelor’s or master’s degrees and requires onsite work four days weekly (Mon–Thu) with Friday as optional work-from-home. Interns will perform data analysis using Excel, VBA, SAS, Python, and Milliman tools, participate in pricing, reserving, and forecasting, and gain mentorship from seasoned actuaries.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, finance, accounting, or another quantitative major.
• At least one actuarial exam passed.
• Must be able to work onsite at least four days per week (Mon-Thurs) at one of our CMH Health office locations (Chicago, IL; Milwaukee, WI; Hartford, CT).
• Junior standing is preferred; sophomore status accepted at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Perform data analysis using Excel, VBA, SAS, Python, and proprietary Milliman tools to support healthcare consulting across Medicare, Commercial/ACA, Medicaid, and other segments.
• Engage in pricing, reserving, financial projections, model development, forecasting, and M&A activities.
• Review peers’ work and assist with research and product development as needed.
• Coordinate with Consultants, Managers, and Interns to present client reports and deliverables.
• Handle majority of technical work, including data analysis, actuarial calculations, model development, and software implementation.
