Job summary

A healthcare provider in North Charleston, SC is seeking a compassionate Activity/Member Assistant to support elderly and young adults with disabilities. Qualifications

• Must be dependable with reliable transportation and/or a valid driver’s license.
• CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain) required.
• Physically able to assist members with personal care tasks.
• CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Clean background check and drug test.
• Physically able to assist members with personal care tasks (toileting, ambulation, feeding, etc).

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activity Director in implementing engaging activities.
• Provide hands-on personal care to members when needed.
• Foster a positive and interactive environment.
• Set up and clean activity areas to ensure a safe and organized space. Assist members with activities and encourage participation.
• Redirect behaviors as needed to promote a supportive atmosphere, promote member independence in a positive manner.
• Monitor and document any changes in client behavior or health, reporting to the RN Administrator.
• Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Activity Director in implementing engaging activities, including arts, crafts, exercise, spiritual, music, games, & life skills.
• Provide hands‑on personal care (ADL assistance) to members when needed, including feeding, toileting, ambulation and transfers.
• Foster a positive and interactive environment by engaging with members and their families.
• Set up and clean activity areas to ensure a safe and organized space. Assist members with activities and encourage participation.
• Redirect behaviors as needed to promote a supportive atmosphere, promote member independence in a positive manner.
