Job summary

The Harvest of Roanoke is seeking a compassionate Senior Living Activity Assistant to create engaging daily programs for residents. You will lead activities, ensure safe transport within the community, and support a friendly, inclusive culture.

Join a team that values growth, training, and dedicated service; prior experience is preferred, but passion for seniors and strong communication skills are key. This role is full-time and based at our Roanoke community.

Qualifications

• Heart for seniors with compassion and enthusiasm for senior care.
• 1+ year of experience in a similar role; degree in psychology or kinesiology preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong communication skills and ability to connect with residents.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Basic understanding of computer programs.

Responsibilities

• Active engagement: host daily activities and interactive sessions for residents.
• Safe transportation: use the community vehicle to transport residents as needed.
• Team development: educate, train, and encourage team members on activity opportunities.
• Warm welcome: meet and greet residents on move-in to foster community bonding.
• Event planning: decorate common areas for special events and holidays.
• Activity documentation: take attendance and photographs of daily activities.
• Compliance mastery: ensure adherence to regulations regarding residents' rights.
• Professional development: attend training sessions and continuous learning.
• Other duties as assigned.
