Job summary

Avantara Milbank is seeking a part-time Activity Aide to support the Activity Department in a skilled nursing setting. You will assist with programs, supervise volunteers, and help with day-to-day administrative tasks to ensure high-quality resident activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operations of the facility’s Activity Department, including supervision of staff when needed and development of department policies.
• Collaborate with the Director of Activities to develop programs that meet current trends and industry standards.
• Observe and report guest attendance, participation, and behavior changes with proper documentation.
• Participate in care planning meetings by providing information and observations of guests’ needs and preferences.
• Greet new guests on arrival to the facility.
• Recruit, train and supervise volunteers to run activity programs.
• Perform administrative tasks such as charting, care planning, and reports; complete assigned MDS portions accurately and on time.

As an Activity Aide, you are instrumental in assisting in the facilities Activities Department. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at Avantara Milbank. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure a clean and safe environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for assisting in operations of the facility’s Activity Department which includes supervision of staff when needed, development and implementation of departmental policy and procedures, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, local regulations.
• Collaborate with Director of Activities developing new programs to meet new trends and industry standards.
• Observe and report Guest’s attendance, participation, and behavior changes by documenting and charting.
• Participates in the care planning process by attending care plan meetings, providing specific information and observations of the Guest’s needs, preferences and report any behavioral changes.
• Meet and great all new Guests and guests upon arrival to the facility.
• Recruits, trains and supervises volunteers from the surrounding community to develop and run activity programs.
• Performs administrative tasks such as charting, care planning, reports and etc. Completes assigned MDS portions accurately and on time.

To be eligible for consideration applicants should have:

As a minimum, an eleventh (11th) grade education. Prior Activity Aide experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting is preferable.
