Avantara Milbank is seeking a Part-time Activity Aide to join our friendly team in Milbank, SD. You will support the Activities Department and help provide a high standard of resident care in a skilled nursing setting.

Responsibilities include developing programs with the Director of Activities, documenting resident participation, and assisting in care planning while greeting new guests and coordinating volunteers. Prior experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility is preferred.

• Minimum eleventh grade education required.
• Prior Activity Aide experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility is preferable.

• Observe and report guests’ attendance, participation, and behavior changes, documenting observations.
• Participate in care planning meetings, providing information about guest needs and preferences.
• Greet guests on arrival and welcome new residents to the facility.
• Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to support activity programs.
• Complete administrative tasks such as charting, care planning, and reporting accurately and on time.

As an Activity Aide, you are instrumental in assisting in the facilities Activities Department. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect atAvantara Milbank. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure a clean and safe environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• 1. Responsible for assisting in operations of the facility’s Activity Department which includes supervision of staff when needed, development and implementation of departmental policy and procedures, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, local regulations.
• 2. Collaborate with Director of Activities developing new programs to meet new trends and industry standards.
• 3. Observe and report Guest’s attendance, participation, and behavior changes by documenting and charting.
• 4. Participates in the care planning process by attending care plan meetings, providing specific information and observations of the Guest’s needs, preferences and report any behavioral changes.
• 5. Meet and great all new Guests and guests upon arrival to the facility.
• 6. Recruits, trains and supervises volunteers from the surrounding community to develop and run activity programs.
• 7. Performs administrative tasks such as charting, care planning, reports and etc. Completes assigned MDS portions accurately and on time.

To be eligible for consideration applicants should have:

As a minimum, an eleventh (11th) grade education. Prior Activity Aide experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting is preferable.
