Job summary

Legacy Healthcare seeks a Part-time Activity Aide for Avantara Milbank to join a respectful, caring team. You will assist in the Activities Department, ensuring residents receive engaging programs and a safe, clean environment.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, developing activities, documenting observations, and supporting care planning with the team. Prior experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility is preferred.

• Minimum eleventh (11th) grade education.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operations of the facility’s Activity Department, including supervision of staff when needed, and development/implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with the Director of Activities to develop new programs meeting trends and standards.
• Observe and report guest attendance, participation, and behavior changes.
• Participate in care planning meetings, provide information on guests’ needs and preferences.
• Greet guests upon arrival to the facility.
• Recruit, train and supervise volunteers to run activity programs.
• Complete charting and care planning tasks and other administrative duties such as reporting.

As an Activity Aide, you are instrumental in assisting in the facilities Activities Department. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect atAvantara Milbank. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure a clean and safe environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• 1. Responsible for assisting in operations of the facility’s Activity Department which includes supervision of staff when needed, development and implementation of departmental policy and procedures, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, local regulations.
• 2. Collaborate with Director of Activities developing new programs to meet new trends and industry standards.
• 3. Observe and report Guest’s attendance, participation, and behavior changes by documenting and charting.
• 4. Participates in the care planning process by attending care plan meetings, providing specific information and observations of the Guest’s needs, preferences and report any behavioral changes.
• 5. Meet and great all new Guests and guests upon arrival to the facility.
• 6. Recruits, trains and supervises volunteers from the surrounding community to develop and run activity programs.
• 7. Performs administrative tasks such as charting, care planning, reports and etc. Completes assigned MDS portions accurately and on time.

To be eligible for consideration applicants should have:

As a minimum, an eleventh (11th) grade education. Prior Activity Aide experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting is preferable.
