Job summary

Avantara Clark is seeking an Activity Assistant to join our caring team. You will help implement activity programs that meet residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs, and assist in overseeing the Activity Department to ensure high standards of care.

This part-time role may include evenings and weekends; prior Activity Aide or Assistant Director experience and NCCAP certification are preferable, with opportunities for growth and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a Skilled Nursing setting preferred.
• NCCAP certification is desirable and may be invested in.

Responsibilities

• Support residents' emotional and social wellbeing through activity programs.
• Assist with implementing and directing activity plans to meet needs.
• Oversee all aspects of the Activity Department and participate in care conferences.
• Develop new activity programs and stay current with trends and standards.
• Ensure residents are comfortable and safe during activities.

As an Activity Assistant you are responsible for our residents' emotional and social wellbeing. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at Avantara Clark by assisting with implementing and directing activity programs that meet the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of our residents, assisting with overseeing all aspects of the Activity Department, participating in resident care conferences and assisting with developing new activity programs to keeping up with trends and industry standards. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they are comfortable and safe. This is a part-time position that ,may include evenings and weekends.

To be eligible for consideration applicants should have:

As a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior Activity Aide and/or Assistant Activity Director experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting, one (1) year of experience in a director or managerial role and NCCAP Certification is preferable but we are willing to invest in the right candidate!
