Description

The Bungalows at Mayfield is seeking an Activities Director (Program and Outreach Director) to join their team!
The Program and Outreach Director reports directly to the Executive Director.

Purpose

Activities Director

The Program and Outreach Director is responsible for developing, leading, and overseeing a resident-centered activities and outreach program that promotes and integrates the Phoenix Senior Living philosophy to incorporate wellness in all aspects of the seniors’ lives we serve. Ensuring all dimensions (emotional, sense of purpose, physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual) are incorporated into the services we provide and embrace. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting in recruiting, hiring, and training the Assistant Program and Outreach Director.

Resident Care

Activities Director

• Participates in the Personalized Service Plans (PSP).
• Refers to the Resident Profile and addendum for every new resident.
• Ensures a variety of appropriate and personalized activities that incorporate all wellness dimensions, available throughout the day and evening with resident care associate participation.
• Maintains the PSL Activity & Program Guidebook, tracking daily resident interest and participation.
• Uses resident demographic information to organize small groups or clubs addressing similar needs and preferences.
• Recognizes resident changes in condition and takes appropriate action.
• Assists residents to and from activity rooms and in memory care, assists with engagement in Life Skills and other activities.
• Assists in maintaining inventory of activity supplies, games, programs, and crafts.
• Schedules, communicates, facilitates, and records monthly resident Council meetings.

Requirements

Education/Experience/Licensure-Certification

• Associate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Administration, Gerontology, or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years’ experience in senior living/skilled nursing activity & event planning, including moderate to large event planning responsibilities.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Knowledge and experience in Assisted Living and Dementia care preferred.

Physical Requirements

• In an 8-hour workday, standing/walking 0-2 hours at a time, totaling 4–6 hours per day.
• Sitting 0-2 hours at a time, totaling 2–4 hours per day.
• Driving 30-60 minutes, 1-2 times a week.
• Support/assist with lifting (up to 50 lbs. regularly, occasionally 150 lbs.), lifting/carrying (up to 40 lbs. regularly, occasionally 70 lbs.), reaching, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and using hands for manipulation.
