An established industry player in healthcare is seeking an Activities Director to enhance the quality of life for residents through engaging and meaningful activities. In this pivotal role, you will plan, develop, and implement a variety of resident-centered activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while fostering a supportive environment. Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct resident-centered activities for the facility. Stay updated on current federal and state regulations, as well as professional standards. Ensure effective communication between employees at all levels, residents, their families, support personnel, government agencies, and the public to meet the needs and interests of residents, the community, and the facility.
Participate in community planning related to the facility's interests and the needs of residents and their families. Assist in reviews and develop correction plans for activity deficiencies noted during surveys, providing reports to the Administrator. Attend regular meetings including staff, department heads, quality improvement, infection control, safety, marketing, and resident councils.
Support the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee in developing and implementing corrective actions for quality deficiencies. Contribute to discharge planning, develop and implement activity care plans, and conduct resident assessments. Arrange transportation for residents for outings, appointments, or discharges.
Create a monthly activity schedule, including outings, group activities, and in-room activities for bed-bound or isolated residents. Encourage residents to participate in hobbies, crafts, and reading, providing materials such as Braille or audiobooks as needed. Ensure all activity notes are detailed and reflect the services provided and resident responses.
Assist in supervising and managing the activity staff.
Frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing, and pulling; occasional sitting, climbing, and stooping. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Frequent talking, hearing, tasting, and smelling. Visual acuity for various focus needs.
Noise level usually low to moderate. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities. Duties may be reassigned as needed.
