Responsibilities:

• Develop, organize, and lead activities tailored for residents, addressing social, emotional, physical, and therapeutic needs.
• Coordinate indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety and engagement.
• Maintain records of activities and resident participation, aligning with care plans.
• Develop monthly activity calendars and train volunteers and students.
• Support Resident Council activities.
• Ensure all activity-related documentation complies with regulations.

Qualifications:

• Meet at least one of the following:
  • Degree and certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist
  • Certified Activity Director by the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals
  • Two years experience in social or recreational programs, including one year full-time in a healthcare setting
  • Completion of a state-approved training course
• One to two years of management/supervisory experience.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for activity programs in long-term care.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, high energy, and enthusiasm.
