Join Our Team as an Activities Director at Sprenger Health Care Systems

Sprenger Health Care, a third-generation leader in senior living communities across Ohio and South Carolina, is seeking a dedicated Activities Director. Our services include long-term nursing, assisted and independent living, memory care, hospice, home care, respite care, and short-term rehabilitation across 12 nursing homes, 10 assisted living, and 8 independent living communities, totaling nearly 2,000 beds.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed or registered by the state, if applicable, or eligible for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional by a recognized accrediting body (post-October 1, 1990).
  • Or, have 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years, including at least 1 year full-time in a healthcare setting.
  • Or, be a qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant.
  • Or, have completed a state-approved training course.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Plan, schedule, and implement individual and group activities tailored to residents’ needs and interests.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and training within the activities department.
  • Participate in resident care conferences as part of the interdisciplinary team, integrating recreation into overall care plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services and resident progress.
  • Develop and communicate programs to residents, staff, families, and volunteers.
