A leading company is seeking a detail-oriented Merchandise Planner to manage inventory and optimize product mix across retail locations. This role is vital for forecasting demand and ensuring each store meets local customer preferences and market trends.
JOB SUMMARY :
We are looking for a detail-oriented, analytical, and strategic Merchandise Planner to manage inventory, optimize product mix, and drive profitability across our High Profile Cannabis Shop retail locations. This role will be instrumental in forecasting demand, managing product assortments, and ensuring each store is tailored to market trends and local customer preferences.
JOB DUTIES :
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develop and manage merchandise plans that align with financial goals and sales strategies across multiple dispensary locations.
Forecast demand, plan inventory levels, and recommend purchase quantities in collaboration with buying and operations teams.
Analyze sales data, sell-through rates, turns, and margin performance to inform replenishment and markdown strategies.
Partner with Product, Retail Operations, and Marketing to ensure cohesive product launches and in-store promotions.
Support state-by-state product mix planning, factoring in regulatory nuances and local consumer preferences.
Optimize SKU assortments by store and region to ensure localized merchandising strategies.
Identify slow-moving inventory and implement data-driven liquidation plans or promotions.
Monitor product life cycles and recommend introduction or phase-out timelines for specific SKUs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS :
3–5 years of merchandise planning, inventory management, or retail analytics experience, preferably in cannabis, CPG, or specialty retail.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and inventory planning tools (e.g., ERP, POS, demand planning software).
Experience working in a regulated industry or knowledge of cannabis compliance is a plus.
Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, especially with buying, supply chain, and store operations teams.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to adapt in a fast-paced, multi-state retail environment.
Good judgment in a fast-moving environment with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks.
Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check.
