Job summary

Forest Hills Assisted Living Retirement & Care Center is seeking a compassionate Activities Assistant to coordinate and lead engaging resident activities. You will plan floor activities, prepare snacks, and support residents throughout daily programs in a cheerful, safe environment.

The role requires scheduling activities, maintaining logs, and assisting with dining setup. Weekend, holiday, and evening shifts are expected; NCCAP certification is preferred, with opportunities for education

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 college credits in NCCAP preferred.
• 500 hours of experience in activity programming preferred.
• NCCAP Certification preferred.
• Maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, pre-plan and implement floor activities based on center activity schedule.
• Plan and organize special floor activities using monthly calendar ideas.
• Prepare special snacks with residents.
• Set up dining room tables for activities.
• Clean up after all activities and complete required logs and charting.
• Keep activity areas clean, safe and free from clutter; assist residents to common areas.
• Assist other departments with residents as needed.
• Work on weekends, holidays and evenings.

Essential Functions of Activities Assistant:

Qualifications of Activities Assistant:

• High School Diploma or general equivalency is required


• 6 college credits in applicable study as required by NCCAP is preferred


• 500 hours of experience in activity programming is preferred


• Certification as Occupational Therapy Assistant or NCCAP Certification is preferred


• Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
