Job summary

Sunset Health Care Center seeks a compassionate Activities Assistant to plan and lead engaging floor activities for residents in a caring senior living environment. You will coordinate with care staff, prepare snacks, and help with dining room setups.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, NCCAP credits preferred, and CNA license readiness. The role requires some evenings/weekends/holidays and offers full-time benefits and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• NCCAP coursework preferred (6 credits).
• 500 hours of activity programming experience preferred.
• Certification as Occupational Therapy Assistant or NCCAP certification preferred.
• Willingness to obtain CNA license.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, pre-plan and implement floor activities based on center activity schedule.
• Use monthly calendar ideas to plan and organize special floor activities.
• Prepare snacks with residents.
• Set up dining room tables for activities.
• Clean up after activities and complete required logs/charting.
• Maintain clean, safe activity areas and assist residents to common areas as per care plan.
• Assist other departments with residents as needed.
• Weekends, holidays and evenings required.

Education

Essential FunctionsofActivities Assistant:

• Complete required logs and charting
• Keeping all activity areas clean, safe and free from clutter
• Assist residents to and from common areas as stated by their care plan
• Assist other departments with residents as needed and required
• Weekends, holidays and evenings required

QualificationsofActivities Assistant:

• High School Diploma or general equivalency is required
• 6 college credits in applicable study as required by NCCAP is preferred
• 500 hours of experience in activity programming is preferred
• Certification as Occupational Therapy Assistant or NCCAP Certification is preferred
• Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
• Must be willing to obtain CNA license.
