Job summary

South Pointe Rehabilitation & Care Center in Oklahoma City is seeking a compassionate Activities Assistant to plan and run engaging floor activities for residents, coordinate snacks, and keep dining areas tidy. This full-time role requires weekend, holiday and evening availability, with logs and charting duties, and provides benefits such as PTO after 30 days, education reimbursement, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 college credits in NCCAP-related study preferred.
• 500 hours of activity programming experience preferred.
• NCCAP Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, pre-plan and implement floor activities based on center activity schedule.
• Use monthly calendar ideas to plan and organize special floor activities.
• Prepare snacks with residents.
• Set up dining room tables for activities.
• Clean up after activities.
• Complete required logs and charting.
• Keep activity areas clean, safe and clutter-free.
• Assist residents to and from common areas per care plan.
• Assist other departments with residents as needed.
• Weekends, holidays and evenings required.

Education

6 college credits in NCCAP-related study

500 hours of activity programming experience

NCCAP Certification preferred

Essential Functions of Activities Assistant

• Schedule, pre-plan and implement floor activities based on center activity schedule

• Clean up after all activities
• Complete required logs and charting
• Keeping all activity areas clean, safe and free from clutter
• Assist residents to and from common areas as stated by their care plan
• Assist other departments with residents as needed and required
• Weekends, holidays and evenings required

Qualifications of Activities Assistant

• High School Diploma or general equivalency is required
• 6 college credits in applicable study as required by NCCAP is preferred
• 500 hours of experience in activity programming is preferred
• Certification as Occupational Therapy Assistant or NCCAP Certification is preferred
• Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
