Job summary

Jackson Manor seeks a compassionate Activities Assistant to enrich resident life in a respectful, person-centered environment. This part-time role requires scheduling and leading floor activities, coordinating with care staff, and preparing snacks while maintaining safe, clean spaces.

Hours include weekends, holidays, and evenings. The successful candidate will have a High School Diploma, 500 hours activity programming experience preferred, and NCCAP or OTA certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 college credits in NCCAP-eligible study preferred.
• 500 hours of activity programming experience preferred.
• Certification as OTA or NCCAP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, pre-plan and implement floor activities based on center activity schedule.
• Use monthly calendar ideas to plan and organize special floor activities.
• Prepare special snacks with residents.
• Set up the dining room tables for activities.
• Clean up after all activities.
• Complete required logs and charting.
• Keep activity areas clean, safe and clutter-free.
• Assist residents to and from common areas as per care plan.
• Assist other departments with residents as needed.
• Weekends, holidays and evenings required.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

6 college credits in applicable study (NCCAP)

500 hours of activity programming experience

Certification as Occupational Therapy Assistant or NCCAP

Qualifications of Activities Assistant:

• High School Diploma or general equivalency is required
• 6 college credits in applicable study as required by NCCAP is preferred
• 500 hours of experience in activity programming is preferred
• Certification as Occupational Therapy Assistant or NCCAP Certification is preferred
• Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
