Job Title: Armed Security Officer

Location: Kutztown, PA

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Requirements:

• Active ACT 235 certification
• Own firearm and holster
• License to carry
• Security experience

Primary Purpose and Function

The Armed Security Officer is responsible for providing security services at assigned locations, focusing on observing and reporting. Duties include monitoring activity, conducting patrols (foot, vehicular, golf cart, bicycle), reporting suspicious activities or persons, writing detailed reports, enforcing policies, and responding to emergencies.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Execute security services as outlined in the Post Order Manual and policies.
• Conduct patrols and identify/report security threats or hazards.
• Perform site-specific duties like customer service, loss prevention, and security roles.
• Write incident reports and contact relevant personnel as needed.
• Implement emergency procedures and adhere to all policies and standards.
• Participate in training and orientation programs.
• Respond to incidents according to Post Orders and Use of Force Policy.
• Support security, customer service, or other functions as directed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Military experience or security-related education preferred
• 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred
• Valid state license/permit to carry a firearm
• Background check and drug test as required
• Reliable transportation and ability to write reports
• Customer service skills and ability to de-escalate situations
• Good communication and judgment skills

Certifications / Licenses

• Criminal, Credit, and Motor Vehicle background checks
• Additional jurisdictional requirements
