Job Title: Armed Security Officer

Location: Myerstown, PA

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Requirements:

• Active ACT 235 certification
• Own firearm and holster
• License to carry
• Security experience

Primary Purpose and Function

The Armed Security Officer is responsible for providing security services at assigned locations, focusing on observing and reporting. Duties include monitoring all activity, conducting foot, vehicular, golf cart, and/or bicycle patrols of interior and exterior areas; reporting suspicious activities and persons; writing detailed reports; maintaining daily activity reports (DARs); enforcing post orders, site rules, and responding to emergencies requiring security assistance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Execute security services as outlined in the Post Order Manual and company policies.
• Conduct patrols (walking, vehicular, golf cart, bicycle) as assigned.
• Identify and report security threats, hazards, and emergency situations.
• Perform site-specific duties such as customer service, loss prevention, retail security, visitor reception, and other safety/security roles.
• Write incident reports during shifts, noting unusual activities and resolutions. Contact relevant personnel as needed.
• Know and implement site-specific policies and emergency procedures.
• Follow all company procedures, maintain good attendance, grooming, and customer service standards.
• Participate in orientation and training programs.
• Respond appropriately to incidents, complete reports, and notify relevant parties.
• Support security, customer service, or other functions as directed.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily. Requirements include:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Military experience or security-related education preferred
• 1-3 years of professional experience preferred
• Valid state registration/permit/license; must pass background check and drug test
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate motor vehicle, golf cart, or bicycle if required
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to write clear, effective reports
• Customer service orientation and de-escalation skills
• Energetic, focused, with good judgment and discretion
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work well within a team and with clients

Required Certifications / Licenses

• Criminal, Credit, and Motor Vehicle background check clearance
• Additional jurisdictional requirements as applicable

Education and Certification

• HS Diploma or GED
• PA ACT 235 License
• Driver's License
• License to Carry Firearm
