Job summary

Loyola University Chicago is seeking an ACE Advisor to serve as primary Academic Advisor for first- and second-year students within the SCHOLARS PROGRAM. You will support ACE Scholars with academic and co-curricular planning, advising on courses, financial aid, and resources, and you will foster partnerships across campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in College Student Personnel, Counseling or related field required.
• Experience working with TRIO students including low-income, first-generation, and students with disabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, written communication, public speaking/presentation skills, research, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage components of program administration, including record keeping, data generation, and documentation of services.
• Develop academic support programs and services.
• Coordinate holistic coaching strategies.
• Implement personal/social, academic, career counseling.
• Advise ACE Scholars on post-secondary course selection, financial aid, and scholarship information and resources.
• Presents academic workshops on various topics, such as registration, campus resources, software usage, degree requirements, and learning strategies.
• Advise students in person, as well as via phone, email, and video-conferencing through scheduled and drop-in appointments.
