Job summary

SC Educational Television (SCETV) is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to work under the Controller and CFO. The role analyzes receivables, ensures compliance with federal/state regulations, and prepares procedural updates as needed.

Provides technical assistance and ad hoc reports while coordinating with internal and external customers. Responsibilities include processing payments, reconciling receipts, generating aging reports, and maintaining documentation in SCEIS.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma and professional experience in accounting, auditing, finance, or banking.
• Bachelor's degree with accounting courses may substitute for required experience.
• Bachelor's degree with accounting courses.
• Associates degree in accounting, finance, business or related field with two years of related experience.
• High school diploma with four years of related accounting experience.
• Knowledge of SCEIS accounting module.
• Understanding of accounting principles and financial management.
• Ability to interpret and analyze financial data, records, and reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounts receivable functions including processing checks, ACH/Wires, interdepartmental transfers and refunds in compliance with policies.
• Scan documentation into SCEIS and attach to receivable documents for approval.
• Monitor receivables email and respond to inquiries; ensure timely invoicing.
• Contact State Treasurer's Office for postings and resolve payment issues.
• Generate reports analyzing receipts and financial data for expenses and processes.
• Track monthly ageing report and contact customers to resolve outstanding receivables.
• Process employee travel requests and expenses electronically in SCEIS Central.
• Respond to travel inquiries and ensure documentation is complete for approval.
• Review and update agency regulations/policies to ensure compliance.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and other duties as assigned.
