Job summary

REB Storage Systems International in Darien, IL is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Accounting Team. This role focuses on preparing and applying invoices, reviewing aging reports, resolving discrepancies, and collaborating with Sales, Project Management, and Operations to ensure accurate billing.

The ideal candidate has accounting education or equivalent experience, proficiency with SAP Business One and Excel, and strong communication and organizational skills to maintain

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts receivable, billing, collections, cash application or related accounting function.
• Experience reviewing financial information and reconciling customer accounts.
• Comfortable navigating SAP Business One; knowledge in Procore, Ariba, Coupa and GCpay.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other MS Office applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated accuracy, organization, and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and process accurate customer invoices in accordance with billing requirements and project documentation.
• Post and apply customer payments accurately and promptly.
• Review aging reports to identify past-due balances, unapplied payments, credits, and discrepancies.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding invoices, balances, and documentation needs.
• Assist with collection efforts while maintaining positive customer relationships.
• Research and resolve billing questions, short/overpayments, deductions, or disputed invoices.
• Reconcile customer accounts and ensure transactions are properly recorded.
• Coordinate with Sales, Project Management, Operations to obtain accurate billing information.
• Maintain organized accounts receivable records and assist with customer account setup.
• Prepare AR reports and account summaries for management review.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to AR.
• Identify recurring billing issues and recommend process improvements.
• Assist VP with accounting research, reporting, and special AR projects.
