Job summary

Vaco Los Angeles is seeking an experienced AR and Cash App Specialist to join an accounting team. The role requires basic accounting knowledge, AR procedures, and payments processing, with a strong willingness to learn. The position is hybrid in Los Angeles, CA and pays up to $32/hr on a contract basis.

The ideal candidate will support collections, cash application, and cross-functional collaboration, while maintaining positive attitude and growth mindset.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic accounting principles including AR, AP, invoicing, credits/debits, chargebacks, and credit terms.
• Experience implementing AR and collections.
• Proven organizational skills.
• Experience using ERP systems.
• Associate degree in Accounting/Finance preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure collectors are making sufficient outbound calls to delinquent customer accounts
• Support collection and cash application teams with escalations and guidance
• Work cross functionally within the organization to resolve issues
• Review and recommend accounts for research and reconciliation
• Perform collection activities as a hands on member of the collection team
• Provide coaching to collection team
• Review the follow request for accuracy, completeness and justification - Credit memo, refunds and payment adjustments.
• Establish and review collection metrics daily to adjust individual and or team priorities
• Keep AR management team abreast of issues and concerns that affect team productivity and performance
• Assign tasks to team members based on planned and unplanned absences to ensure workload remains equitable.

A basic understanding of accounting, standard accounts receivables procedures, processing payments, and a positive attitude is essential. The ideal candidate will have a willingness to learn and grow! This role can pay up to $32/hr and is hybrid in Los Angeles, CA. This role will be contract.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure collectors are making sufficient outbound calls to delinquent customer accounts
