Job Title: Accounts Receivable / Billing Specialist

Compensation: $25.00 per hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable / Billing Specialist to join our client's accounting team in Deer Park, TX. This role is responsible for managing customer billing, processing invoices, monitoring accounts receivable balances, and ensuring accurate and timely invoicing. The ideal candidate has experience in accounts receivable and billing, strong organizational skills, and the ability to research discrepancies while maintaining positive relationships with customers and internal departments.

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Invoice Processing

• Prepare, review, and process customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Verify billing information, pricing, and supporting documentation before invoicing
• Ensure invoices are submitted according to customer requirements and established payment terms
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies, missing information, and invoice rejections
• Maintain accurate billing records and documentation

Accounts Receivable & Payment Tracking

• Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices
• Review accounts receivable aging reports and identify overdue balances
• Follow up with customers regarding outstanding invoices and payment status as needed
• Research unapplied payments, short payments, and account discrepancies
• Assist with reconciling customer accounts and resolving outstanding balances

Customer & Internal Communication

• Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices, billing discrepancies, and payment status
• Communicate with internal departments to obtain information needed for accurate billing
• Coordinate with customers to resolve invoice disputes and prevent payment delays
• Maintain professional relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
• Escalate unresolved billing issues as appropriate

Reporting & Administrative Support

• Maintain organized records of invoices, payments, and customer account activity
• Assist with preparing accounts receivable and billing reports
• Support month-end close activities, including account reconciliations as needed
• Monitor billing accuracy and identify opportunities to improve processes
• Provide general accounting support and assist with additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous accounts receivable and/or billing experience required
• Knowledge of invoicing, payment tracking, and account reconciliations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Experience working with accounting software or ERP systems preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to research discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
