Job summary

Suburban Automotive Services is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Michigan. You will apply customer payments daily, answer inquiries, and follow up on past-due balances while coordinating with sales managers.

We offer weekly pay, medical/dental/vision, a 401(k) with company match, and paid time off. Hours are 8:00 am–4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, on-site in Troy.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver’s license and strong communication skills.
• Customer service oriented with reliable time management.
• Self-starter who can work well in a team and manage tasks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Process customer payments daily via check, ACH, or credit card.
• Respond to statements, invoices, and account questions by phone or email.
• Follow up weekly on past-due balances via email or phone.
• Coordinate with sales managers to collect aging balances by email or phone.
• Reconcile payments to statements to identify unpaid invoices.
• Work with customer support to resolve issues causing non-payment.
• Process weekly refund checks for credit balances on accounts.
• Adhere to DRIVEN values and SAS mission.

Salary Overview

The pay rate for this role starts at $22 per hour based on experience.

Hours

The hours for this role are Monday through Friday 8am to 4:30pm.

Accounts Receivable Specialist Responsibilities Include

• Apply customer payments daily via check, ACH, or credit card.
• Answer requests for statements, invoices, and account questions via phone and email when requested.
• Follow up with customers weekly to collect past-due balances via email or phone.
• Communicate with TSMs/Sales Managers to collect A/R aging balances via email or phone.
• Reconcile payments to statements to determine which invoices are unpaid.
• Work with customer support to determine why invoices are unpaid and resolve those issues.
• Process weekly refund checks for credit balances on accounts.
• Adhere to Suburban Automotive Service’s DRIVEN values and align business practices to support the SAS mission and vision.

Accounts Receivable Specialist Qualifications And Skills

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Must be customer service oriented.
• Must have exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills.
• Must be a self-starter.
• Must be a reliable team player.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook applications preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Accounts Receivable Specialist Working Conditions And Physical Demands Include

• 95% of the time this job will be completed while sitting.
• 5% of the time this job will be completed while walking, standing, and light lifting office materials.
