Apex International is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Accounting team in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. This full-time, on-site role handles invoicing, cash application, collections, and account reconciliation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to balance multiple priorities while building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in accounts receivable, billing, or collections.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under deadline.

Responsibilities

• Process customer invoices, credit memos, and statements accurately and timely.
• Apply payments and reconcile cash receipts, deductions, and balances.
• Monitor aging reports and perform collections on past-due accounts.
• Research billing discrepancies and chargebacks; resolve issues.
• Support month-end close and account reconciliations.
• Maintain complete account records and audit documentation.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Shipping, and Finance.
• Assist with customer credit maintenance and account setup.

Job description

Apex International is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Accounting team in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for customer invoicing, cash application, collections, and account reconciliation activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role works closely with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure timely payment collection, accurate account maintenance, and exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities while building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Process customer invoices, credit memos, and account statements accurately and timely
• Apply customer payments and reconcile cash receipts, deductions, and account balances
• Monitor aging reports and perform collection activities on past-due accounts
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies, payment issues, chargebacks, and deductions
• Reconcile customer accounts and investigate unapplied cash and account variances
• Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Shipping, and Finance to resolve customer account concerns
• Support customer credit maintenance, account setup, and documentation requirements
• Assist with month-end close activities, reporting, and account reconciliations
• Maintain complete and accurate account records and audit documentation
• Identify process improvements that enhance controls, efficiency, and cash flow

QualificationsRequired

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
• Two or more years of accounts receivable, billing, collections, or related accounting experience
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and customer service mindset
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Preferred

• Manufacturing, distribution, or industrial industry experience
• Experience with high-volume invoicing and collections
• Familiarity with customer deductions, chargebacks, freight terms, and order processing documentation
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or NetSuite
