Apex International seeks an experienced Inventory Accountant to join our accounting team in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. This full-time, on-site role focuses on inventory accounting, valuation, cost analysis, and reporting in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a detail-oriented approach to turning inventory data into meaningful business insights to support financial reporting and cost management.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of inventory or costing experience in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze standard costs, including purchase price, labor, and overhead variances
• Perform inventory valuation, reconciliation, and reporting activities
• Analyze and explain purchase price, manufacturing, labor, and overhead variances
• Record and review inventory adjustments, scrap, rework, and obsolescence transactions
• Support cycle counts and physical inventories and investigate inventory variances
• Identify opportunities to improve inventory management processes
• Manage the identification, reporting, and disposition of excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory

Job description

Apex International is seeking an experienced Inventory Accountant to join our Accounting team in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for inventory accounting, inventory valuation, cost analysis, and inventory reporting in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role partners closely with Supply Chain, Account Management, FP&A, and other departments to maintain accurate standard costs, analyze variances, support financial reporting, and ensure compliance with accounting requirements.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach and the ability to turn inventory and cost data into meaningful business insights.

Key Responsibilities
