MOHR Talent is seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk for our Newark, New Jersey location. This on-site role supports the growing accounting team in a reputable importer and distributor of international specialty foods. The position is contract to hire with a competitive hourly rate of $33.

You’ll record payments, manage AR aging, assist with cash postings, communicate with customers, and collaborate with sales and finance to keep receivables accurate and up-to-date.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent.
• Prior experience in accounts receivable.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid working knowledge of MS Office.
• Comfortable learning new accounting software systems.

Responsibilities

• Record and reconcile customer payments in line with company procedures.
• Maintain accounts receivable records, keeping aging schedules current and credits, collections, and miscellaneous differences accounted for.
• Handle daily cash management duties including bank deposits, cash receipt logs, and posting to the AR sub-ledger.
• Flag payment discrepancies to management and identify slow paying accounts.
• Follow up with customers directly to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices.
• Partner with the sales team, providing information and support as needed.
• Deliver regular receivable status updates and reports to the finance team.
• Support the broader accounting and finance team, including inventory related tasks.
