Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming is seeking an Accounts Receivable Analyst to manage a portfolio of customer accounts and drive timely collections. You will act as a liaison between customers and internal teams to resolve delays, research disputes, and improve cash flow.

Strong communication, analytical skills, and attention to detail are essential. The role requires collaboration with billing, sales, and operations to ensure accurate invoicing and prompt payments.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts receivable, collections, and reconciliations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with internal/external stakeholders.
• Strong customer service, negotiation, and relationship-management abilities.
• Analytical and investigative skills to identify causes of discrepancies and delays.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned portfolio of customer accounts to ensure timely collection of invoices.
• Review aging reports and prioritize collection efforts by risk and delinquency trends.
• Contact customers via phone, email, and virtual meetings to obtain payment commitments.
• Investigate and resolve payment delays due to billing errors, missing invoices, PO issues, short payments, deductions, disputes, or other concerns.
• Collaborate with railroad office managers, billing teams, sales, operations, and cash application teams to resolve payments.
• Maintain positive customer relationships while meeting collection objectives.
• Prepare collection updates, aging summaries, and account status reports for management.
• Identify opportunities to improve collection processes and documentation.
• Complete related projects as assigned.
