Job summary

The Seminole County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller seeks an Accounts Payable Team Leader to guide the AP function with GAAP and GASB expertise, supervise a team of 10 clerks, and ensure compliance with county codes and the UAS manual. The role involves process improvement, bank transfers, and collaboration with auditors.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor's in accounting, 5 years of government accounting experience (3 years in supervision), and a valid Florida driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
• Five (5) years of governmental accounting or auditing experience, including three (3) years supervisory experience.
• Valid Florida Driver’s license.
• An equivalent combination of education and/or work experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Directs all Accounts Payable functions to ensure compliance with the County’s Administrative Code and the Florida UAS Manual.
• Manages and supervises ten Accounts Payable Finance Clerks, including performance reviews and training needs.
• Contributes to development of processes and procedures; initiates and reviews bank wire transfers.
• Monitors Procurement Card purchases; prepares Journal Entries; reviews requisitions as needed.
• Works with Clerk’s IS team to troubleshoot the Accounting application; ensures proper year-end cut-off.
• Assists in compiling information for the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).
• Reviews GAAP and GASB standards in financial reporting and audits; supports internal controls.
