Job summary

Seminole County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller seeks an Accountant I to perform professional accounting duties including reconciliations, fixed assets, accounts receivable/payable, journal entries, and year-end work papers for the ACFR.

Exempt position under FLSA; requires GAAP knowledge and proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook; requires a valid Florida driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field and two or more years of recent relevant experience; public sector preferred.
• Florida Driver's License is required/preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process accounting and financial documents and transactions in compliance with rules and procedures.
• Perform reconciliation of fixed assets and maintain fixed asset module.
• Enter wire transfers and update the County's Investment Portfolio.
• Assist in developing and updating the Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR).
• Assist in preparation of audit work papers for ACFR and for year-end reporting.
• Review journal entries and year-end adjustments; prepare journal entries.
