Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections seeks a Professional Accountant Specialist - SES to supervise the Accounts Payable HUB, oversee invoice processing, warrants, and record retention. You will train staff, ensure timely financial transactions, and coordinate with the Department of Financial Services on warrants and penalties.

The role requires strong supervisory experience, expertise in AP, and proficiency with Outlook.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 3 years' accounting, auditing, or finance experience, or 3 years postsecondary with 1 year accounting/auditing experience.
• Preferred supervisory or team lead experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Accounts Payable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, monitor, and supervise staff in Accounts Payable Mail Distribution and Invoice Preparation (HUB).
• Ensure vouchers are populated in the automated program and processed through FLAIR (PALM).
• Coordinate with Department of Financial Services for warrants and penalties.
• Develop procedures for disbursement control, reporting, internal control, GAAP compliance, and training.
