Job summary

Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, is seeking an Accountant to manage accounts payable tasks within the MU Accounts Payable Office. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, or related fields and experience with Banner Finance, wvOasis, and Marketplace.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Process and pay invoices in accordance with contract terms, WV State Code, university policies and procedures.
• Review invoices against contracts, purchase orders, pricing, and deliverables for accuracy and proper authorization.
• Coordinate invoice management and maintain accountability for invoices related to contractual payments and memberships.
• Work with vendors and university departments to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment questions.
• Approve payments and financial transactions in the wvOasis system as required.
• Maintain a PCard and use it to process authorized payments against POs and memberships.
• Reconcile and adjust invoices in Banner and wvOasis as needed.
• Prepare payments for interfaces from Banner and Marketplace.
• Monitor Accounts Payable email and respond to inquiries.
