Job summary

West Liberty University in West Liberty, WV is seeking an Accounting Specialist to post and reconcile daily financial transactions, assist with grant billing, and provide responsive customer service to students and campus partners. The role requires attention to detail, independence, and proficiency with Banner and OASIS.

The successful candidate will manage multiple priorities, ensure accuracy, and support year-end procedures while upholding internal controls and delivering exceptional service

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Preferred 3+ years of progressively accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Post daily deposits accurately and in a timely manner.
• Post interest income and other recurring financial transactions.
• Process and post ACH transactions and electronic account activity.
• Post and reconcile interdepartmental transfers in Oasis and Banner.
• Review financial transactions for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with account reconciliations and research discrepancies.
• Maintain supporting documentation for financial transactions.
• Assist with year-end accounting procedures and financial reports.
• Follow internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Assist with audit requests and provide documentation.
