Job summary

Fiberlight seeks an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist in Texas to manage vendor invoices, travel and entertainment expense processing, and ensure accurate general ledger coding. You will work with the finance team to maintain efficient AP workflows and strong internal controls.

The role requires 5+ years of AP experience, proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and the ability to handle high-volume processing. Telecom experience is a plus in our dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounts payable experience.
• BS or BA degree preferred.
• Experience with travel and entertainment expense reports.
• Experience processing documents in an EDI environment is favorable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in a high-volume AP environment.
• Telecom or related field experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Enter/process vendor invoices and expense reports for designated departments and markets. Code documents to the correct office and general ledger account code.
• Audit supporting documents to ensure proper approvals, G/L account coding, and payment support is included before disbursing cash.
• Adheres to AP policies and procedures related to travel and entertainment expense processing and cash disbursal.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Controller and A/P Supervisor to improve AP workflows and processes.
• Coordinate AP payment batches to ensure accurate posting in the accounting system.
• Respond to inquiries regarding invoice/check status and provide documentation as needed.
• Serve as backup for regular check runs.
• Analyze and resolve payment process problems.
• Maintain organized filing systems for current/prior years.
• Focus on customer service and escalate when appropriate.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in communications.
