Job summary

Ambipar is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist in Houston, TX to join a mission-driven finance team. The role focuses on timely invoice processing, vendor verification, and accurate reconciliations, supporting internal controls, SOX compliance (if applicable), and month-end close activities.

You will collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders, ensure policy adherence, and identify process improvements to drive cost savings in the payables function.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance or 2+ years experience in AP/billing.
• Strong MS Excel skills including formulas and reconciliations.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems and confidential data handling.

Responsibilities

• Review, code, and process invoices and payment requests accurately and timely.
• Verify vendor account details, resolve discrepancies, and secure approvals per policy.
• Reconcile vendor statements and research variances or missing documentation.
• Support month-end close activities with accruals and reports as assigned.
• Assist with vendor onboarding and maintain vendor records in the ERP system.
